On April 26, 2026, the Suburban Train connecting Buenavista Station in Mexico City to Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) was officially inaugurated. This landmark project enhances urban mobility by providing a fast, direct connection between the airport and the city center, with plans to extend the line to Pachuca, Hidalgo by 2027.
Also known as the Felipe Ángeles Train, the new rail service spans approximately 41 kilometers and offers a journey time of around 50 minutes between the capital and the airport. This travel time is comparable to airport-to-city rail links in major global cities such as Paris, New York, London, Dubai, Berlin, and Tokyo.
The system is expected to serve approximately 57,000 passengers per day, with the capacity to reach up to 80,000 users, positioning it as an efficient, affordable, and accessible transport alternative.

Egis present at a major mobility milestone
During the inauguration ceremony, led by President Claudia Sheinbaum, the project was highlighted as a key step in advancing passenger rail in Mexico and delivering modern, high-quality mobility.
Egis was proud to be part of this milestone. Our involvement not only reflects our contribution to one of the country’s most significant infrastructure projects, but also who we are: a strategic partner in delivering high-impact mobility solutions.
Bastien Dubrocq, Transport Director in Mexico; Victor Rodríguez, ISA (AuditSafe) Manager—our Independent Safety Assessment body—and Álvaro Lezama, Deputy ISA Safety Assessor Manager, represented Egis at the event, reaffirming our commitment to the development of the rail sector and to projects that make a tangible difference in people’s lives.
For Egis, being part of this project—alongside others such as CETRAM Martín Carrera, the Guadalajara Light Rail, Mexico City Metro, and Monterrey Metro—is not only an achievement, but also a clear demonstration of our expertise, technical capabilities, and support throughout every phase of a project.
