The project
Led by Metroselskabet, the 3XR project is a key initiative to upgrade and future-proof Copenhagen’s M1 and M2 metro lines through the migration to a new, modern signalling system. This complex transformation enhances reliability, capacity, and long-term sustainability of the network. Bringing together a wide range of technical expertise—from CBTC systems integration and civil works to digital engineering, the project reinforces Copenhagen’s commitment to delivering world-class, resilient urban mobility.

The Group’ contribution spans the full spectrum of the project—from strategic migration planning, CBTC implementation, GOA4, rolling stock integration, to engineering management, operational transition, and testing and commissioning.
Egis has successfully delivered similar metro upgrades across Europe, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations while delivering long-term performance improvements. This solid track record is now being leveraged to support Metroselskabet in delivering a modern, efficient, and future-ready metro system for the people of Copenhagen.
