Objectives:

This course covers the principles and practice of designing surveys, and the analysis of data from them,

in addition to provide skills in sampling, and the design and analysis of sample surveys. It is aimed at any

student who may need to collect information from human, animal, or other populations.

• Understand sampling and non-sampling errors;

• Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of a variety of survey methods;

Skills:

• Design and code a quantitative survey form;

• Use SPSS to analyze survey results;

• Design sampling plans using a variety of methods;

• Calculate estimates and standard errors for a variety of sampling methods;

• Present clear, orderly and informative statistical summaries and technical reports;
