Introduction:

Designed for participants experienced in the HAZOP technique, the course thoroughly revises the principles of HAZOP, the group response required for HAZOP to be most effective, and then concentrates on the organization, leadership and management of HAZOP study teams.

Safety integrity is defined as “The probability of a Safety Instrumented Function satisfactorily performing the required safety functions under all stated conditions within a stated period of time.” Safety integrity comprises two elements hardware safety integrity and systematic safety integrity. Hardware safety integrity which is based upon random hardware failures can normally be estimated to a reasonable level of accuracy.

Objectives:

Learn how to effectively lead, manage and organize a HAZOP study team

Designed for participants experienced in the HAZOP technique. It begins by thoroughly revising the principles of HAZOP and the group response required for HAZOP to be most effective, and then concentrates on the organization, leadership and management of HAZOP study teams. Almost half the time available is dedicated to workshops, enabling participants to practice leadership skills and team management under tutored observation. The course includes guidance on post-action procedures and the use of recording software, and highlights potential pitfalls that can significantly affect the efficiency of a study.
